Privacy Notice
Effective and last updated August 30, 2026
This Privacy Notice explains how QuoteMe Insurance Services (collectively, “QuoteMe,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and retains personal information through this website, its insurance-request forms, and the related agency workspace. It also describes choices and rights that may apply to you.
California Notice at Collection
At or before collection, California residents are entitled to know the categories of personal information we collect and why we collect or use them. The table below describes our practices during the preceding 12 months and our current intended practices. Providing information is voluntary, but we cannot process or respond to an insurance request without the required contact and application details.
| Category | Examples collected | Business purposes | Retention approach |
|---|---|---|---|
| Identifiers and contact information | Name, email address, telephone number, mailing or property address, ZIP code, normalized city and state, public request reference, online identifiers, and internal user ID. | Create, save, validate, and respond to a request; match duplicates; organize location reporting; communicate; authenticate authorized users; and maintain records. | For the life of the request or customer relationship, then only as reasonably needed for legal, regulatory, dispute, fraud-prevention, and recordkeeping purposes. |
| Customer records, protected characteristics, and commercial information | Date of birth, which may reveal age; requested insurance product; vehicle, driver, mileage, home or rental-property information; coverage preferences; questionnaire answers; source and campaign attribution; agent notes; lead status; and communication history. | Evaluate and route the request, allow a licensed professional or insurer to discuss options, administer the relationship, improve operations, and meet insurance recordkeeping duties. | According to applicable insurance and agency recordkeeping requirements and the operational need for the request. Optional drafts generally expire or are deleted sooner than submitted records. |
| Internet, device, and security activity | IP address or a protected hash derived from it, browser and device information, user agent, referring page, landing page, timestamps, request IDs, cookie or similar identifiers, session activity, and security events. | Operate the service, remember progress, measure performance, attribute traffic, prevent spam and abuse, diagnose errors, maintain audit trails, and secure accounts. | For the shortest period reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting, analytics, and legal compliance; aggregate or deidentified statistics may be retained longer. |
| Professional and account information | For agency-workspace users: business email, name, role, team, account status, protected account credentials, authentication records, assignments, and actions in the workspace. | Provide role-based access, administer teams, assign leads, secure the internal system, and maintain audit and compliance records. | While the account is active and afterward as reasonably necessary for security, audit, legal, and business records. |
| Communications and consent evidence | Messages, support requests, contact preferences, disclosure version and text, consent acceptance time, source page, and related technical evidence. | Respond to you, document instructions and permissions, demonstrate compliance, resolve disputes, and honor revocation or privacy requests. | As long as reasonably necessary to document the request, consent, revocation, or legal obligation. |
| Derived or inferred information | Lead source, product interest, possible duplicate status, assignment priority, service metrics, and patterns derived from submitted or usage information. | Route and manage requests, detect abuse, report performance, and improve services. QuoteMe does not make final insurance underwriting decisions. | Consistent with the underlying record or in aggregated or deidentified form. |
We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. Please do not place Social Security numbers, financial-account credentials, payment-card numbers, medical records, or other information we did not request into free-text fields.
1. Sources of information
We collect personal information from the following sources:
- Directly from you, when you complete a questionnaire, contact us, request assistance, or communicate with an insurance professional.
- Automatically from your browser or device, through essential storage, server logs, security controls, attribution parameters, and—if enabled as described below—analytics technologies.
- From an agency or authorized user, when an agent creates, updates, assigns, exports, or follows up on a lead.
- From service providers and insurance participants, such as hosting, database, email-delivery, security, analytics, insurance carrier, agency, or quoting partners involved in fulfilling a request.
- From public or permitted sources, if a licensed professional needs to verify information in connection with a later insurance transaction and provides any notice required by law.
2. How we use information
- Provide, save, validate, submit, route, and service insurance requests.
- Connect requesters with authorized agencies, licensed insurance professionals, insurers, wholesalers, and quoting partners.
- Communicate about the request by telephone, email, or text as permitted by the consent presented at submission and applicable law.
- Authenticate accounts, enforce permissions, administer teams, and operate the internal agency workspace.
- Detect duplicates, spam, bots, abuse, fraud, unauthorized access, and other security threats.
- Generate request records and PDFs, deliver notifications, maintain consent evidence, and support audits.
- Analyze reliability, traffic sources, conversion, usage, and service performance; troubleshoot errors; and improve the experience.
- Comply with law, licensing and insurance obligations, legal process, and valid government requests; establish or defend legal claims; and protect people, rights, and property.
3. How we disclose information
We may disclose the categories described above to:
- Authorized agencies and insurance professionals responsible for reviewing or responding to your request.
- Insurers, managing general agents, wholesalers, and quoting or placement partners when needed to obtain or discuss requested insurance options.
- Service providers and contractors supporting cloud hosting, databases, email delivery, PDF generation, address search and normalization, monitoring, security, analytics, professional services, and customer support, subject to appropriate contractual restrictions. If you use address suggestions, the text entered and selected location are processed through Google Maps Platform under Google's privacy documentation; manual entry remains available.
- Government authorities, regulators, courts, and other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary for safety, fraud prevention, compliance, or legal claims.
- A successor organization in a merger, financing, reorganization, sale, or transfer, subject to applicable law and appropriate protections.
- Other parties at your direction or with your consent.
How QuoteMe makes money. QuoteMe operates as an insurance-shopping marketplace. When you submit an insurance request, QuoteMe may share your information with, and receive compensation from, participating licensed insurance agencies and professionals in exchange for connecting them with your request. This compensation may constitute a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under applicable law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act. QuoteMe does not sell your information to unrelated third parties for purposes unrelated to your insurance request, and does not use your information to advertise non-insurance products.
Your opt-out right. California residents and others where required by law have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information. To exercise this right, contact us using the information in the Contact Us section below. Opting out after submission may limit our ability to connect your request with a licensed professional but will not affect information already lawfully shared prior to your request.
4. Cookies, local storage, and Google Analytics
QuoteMe currently uses essential browser storage and similar technology to preserve questionnaire progress, maintain secure sessions, prevent duplicate submissions, and operate the service. Browsers may allow you to delete or block this storage, but doing so can interrupt saved progress or sign-in functionality.
QuoteMe uses Google Analytics 4, with your permission, to understand aggregate traffic and use of public pages. Google Analytics may collect a client identifier in a first-party _ga cookie, session statistics, approximate location, browser and device information, page interactions, and referral information. We will not intentionally send names, email addresses, telephone numbers, street addresses, questionnaire answers, or other directly identifying insurance-request data to Google Analytics. Advertising features, Google signals, and ads personalization will remain disabled unless separately disclosed and lawfully configured.
Optional analytics will not load unless you accept it through QuoteMe’s cookie preferences. You can change that choice at any time using the Cookie preferences control in the footer. QuoteMe also honors Global Privacy Control by keeping optional analytics off. You may additionally use browser controls and Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Google processes analytics information under its own privacy documentation.
5. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Because there is no uniform industry response to browser “Do Not Track” signals, the essential service does not currently respond to them. We do not currently sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If a legally recognized opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control becomes relevant to future optional analytics or advertising, we will treat it as a request to opt out as required by applicable law.
6. California privacy rights
Depending on how California law applies to QuoteMe and the information involved, California residents may request:
- Access to the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected about them.
- Correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Deletion of personal information, subject to legal and operational exceptions.
- Information about categories collected, sources, purposes, and categories of recipients.
- Opt-out of sale or sharing and limitation of certain uses of sensitive personal information, if those practices occur.
- Equal service and freedom from retaliation or unlawful discrimination for exercising privacy rights.
Submit a request by emailing hello@divinesoftwaresystems.com with the subject “California Privacy Request.” Include your name, the email or phone used for the request, the right you want to exercise, and—if available—your QuoteMe reference. Do not email sensitive documents. We will confirm receipt, verify the request using information already associated with the record, and respond within the period required by applicable law. We may deny or limit a request where an exception applies, including to complete a transaction, protect security, detect fraud, preserve legal claims, or satisfy insurance and other recordkeeping duties.
An authorized agent may submit a request for you. We may require proof of authorization and may ask you to verify your identity directly. For requests involving a minor, we will require appropriate proof of parental or guardian authority. QuoteMe will not require you to create an account solely to make a request.
California’s “Shine the Light” law may permit residents with an established business relationship to request certain information about disclosures for third parties’ own direct marketing. QuoteMe does not disclose insurance-request information to third parties for their own unrelated direct marketing.
7. California insurance and financial privacy
QuoteMe’s initial questionnaire is a request for insurance information and is not itself an application for coverage. If you proceed to a formal insurance application, the licensed agency, producer, insurer, or other licensee handling that transaction may provide an additional insurance privacy notice required by the California Insurance Information and Privacy Protection Act, California’s insurance privacy regulations, or the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. That notice may describe additional information collected during underwriting, sources such as consumer-reporting or loss-history services, disclosures permitted by insurance law, and rights to access or correct insurance records.
QuoteMe does not obtain a consumer report, credit-based insurance score, motor-vehicle report, claims history, or medical record through this initial form. A licensed participant must give any additional legally required notice and obtain any required authorization before collecting such information later in the insurance process.
8. Data retention
We retain each category only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above. The exact period depends on whether a questionnaire is an unsubmitted draft or submitted request, the length of the agency or customer relationship, applicable insurance and tax recordkeeping rules, limitation periods, dispute and consent evidence, security needs, and backup cycles. We delete, aggregate, or deidentify information when it is no longer reasonably needed, unless law permits or requires longer retention.
9. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed for the nature of the information, including encrypted transport, protected authentication sessions, role-based access, tenant separation, rate limits, validation, audit records, restricted database access, and service-provider controls. No transmission or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe information is at risk, contact us promptly.
10. Children
QuoteMe is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the service. A person submitting a request must be at least 18 and legally able to agree to the applicable terms. Contact us if you believe a child submitted information without proper authority.
11. External services and changes
Links to insurers, agencies, Google, or other third parties are governed by those parties’ notices, not this one. We may update this Privacy Notice when our service, providers, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised version, update the effective date, and provide additional notice when a material change requires it. We will not use previously collected information for a materially different purpose without notice and any consent required by law.
12. Contact Us
For privacy questions, requests, or concerns, email hello@divinesoftwaresystems.com or write “Attn: Privacy” in a reply to an official QuoteMe communication. Please include your QuoteMe reference when available and do not send unrequested sensitive documents by ordinary email.
For the rules governing use of this service, review our Terms of Use.
